Reduce Cable Damage Risk
The PERRIN Firewall Grommet is designed to simplify cable management when routing wires from the interior to the engine bay. It helps protect wires from wearing down against bare metal, ensuring a longer lifespan and safe installation. This grommet allows for a secure and organized solution, reducing the risk of potential damage to the cables over time.
Sound Generator Tube Plug
Additionally, the PERRIN Firewall Grommet can be used as a plug for the hole left behind after removing the STI sound generator tube. This not only improves the aesthetics of your engine bay but also enhances its overall functionality by sealing off the unused opening, providing a clean and professional finish.
There are two locations where this item can fit. It will be common for many to purchase two at per vehicle.
EASY AND CLEAN CABLE MANAGEMENT
Allows for an easy pathway to route cables, wires, and hoses between your engine bay and interior. This makes for a more professional installation when installing PERRIN Gauges.
Protect Wires from Wearing Through
When you install your wires to connect whatever sensors you may have through to your gauges on your dash, you will have to get them through the firewall somehow. Without the PERRIN Firewall Grommet, the wires can rub against sharp metal edges in the firewall, causing them to wear through. Keep solid and clean connections with the PERRIN Firewall Grommet.
Second Opportunities and Sound Generator Removal
The WRX / STI have a second hole which opens up to the cavity where the windshield wiper motor/hardware resides as well as where the HVAC system sucks in fresh air. Within this cavity is another hole that is perfectly located to run wires and/or hoses completly out of the way of a passenger (or driver if in another country) and down to the frame rail. Just like the engine bay hole, it is covered by a plug on the WRX and on the STI the remaining section of the sound generator passes through it.
