OVERTAKE Transmission Crossmember Bushing Kit - Subaru 2008-2026 WRX, 2008-2021 STI

Every gear change should feel deliberate, connected, and precise. So why does the factory leave so much on the table?

Your transmission is mounted through soft, voided rubber bushings that twist and flex under load, creating that sloppy, disconnected shift feel that frustrates enthusiasts. The OVERTAKE Subaru Transmission Crossmember Bushing Kit replaces those mushy OEM bushings with 80A durometer polyurethane bushings that dramatically reduce drivetrain slop while staying civilized for daily driving. This is the foundation of a proper-shifting Subaru.

What You'll Feel:

• More direct gear changes
• Dramatically improved 2nd-to-3rd shift
• Sharper throttle response as torque twist is reduced
• True "connected" feel to the drivetrain

Features:

• 80A durometer polyurethane bushings
• Unaffected by heat, oil, and contaminants
• Replaces OEM with new stainless steel bushing sleeves
• 60-minute install with basic tools
• No cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications

The Details

The front transmission crossmember mount is one of the most overlooked sources of drivetrain flex in the WRX and STI platform. Factory rubber bushings are designed with large voids that compress and deflect under load, absorbing forces that should be going to the wheels. Over time, they also degrade from heat and oil exposure, making shift quality progressively worse. Our polyurethane bushings are specifically calibrated to eliminate excessive movement while preserving enough compliance for daily comfort. Unlike rock-hard solid mounts that transmit every vibration into the cabin, this durometer strikes the ideal balance. Polyurethane is also unaffected by the contaminants that destroy rubber over time, so performance stays consistent. Expect a slight increase in NVH, but most enthusiasts find this trade-off worthwhile and actually prefer the added drivetrain feedback.
